In the leafy suburb of Buderim, QLD, a dated above-ground pool has been completely revitalised into a striking outdoor feature. The homeowners wanted a solution that would combine contemporary style with durability, while eliminating the ongoing upkeep associated with timber. For this reason, they selected NextGen Titanium Fossil composite decking. The generous board width not only streamlined installation around the curved pool but also created a bold, modern aesthetic.

The highlight of this installation was the use of exta-wide 210mm Titanium Fossil boards, each one carefully cut to follow the circular outline of the pool. The wide profile of these boards meant fewer joins, allowing for a cleaner look that accentuates the natural woodgrain pattern of the composite surface. Their grey tones sit beautifully against the crisp white tile work and the vivid blue of the water, creating a balanced and contemporary palette.

The boards were installed onto a custom framework designed to carry the circular load, with precise edge detailing to ensure a smooth transition between the pool surround and the adjoining patio. The non-slip texture of the composite decking provides a safe surface for wet areas, while the robust capping technology ensures resistance against fading, staining, and moisture damage.

The completed pool deck is both practical and visually striking.
